wdi Wireless Hearing Aid System
Working closely with the in-house electronics team at Connevans their wireless hearing aid system was developed from concept to production.
No larger than a sugar cube the wdi unit is a wireless receiver for hearing aid users. Typically used in schools where the noisy enviromnment means hearing imapired children can struggle to hear lessons. The teacher wears a radio microphone, pupils with hearing aids wear a radio receiver, neckloop and wdi unit to hear the teachers voice more clearly wihout the stigma of wires hanging down from their hearing aid.

After generating and understanding a detailed design specification for the product a number of concept sketches were produced. These not only help the client visualise their product but also allow the exploration of new ideas without comitting to costly prototypes.

Visualisations of the final design were created, allowing the company to generate marketing material and user manuals ahead of manufacturing.

Protype units were manufactured for user trials and product testing. The product was demonstrated successfully to key insdutry professsionals. A great opportunity to see market reaction and iron out any technical issues.
